Chip Hourihan is a writer, producer, director, editor, and line producer.
AAA Acme Discount Film Works is the production company that he formed long ago, in order to direct a music video for Jonathan Richman, when the record company asked for the name to write on the check.
Things have changed since then.
Chip is perhaps best known as the producer of Frozen River, winner of the Sundance Grand Jury Prize and nominated for two Academy Awards. He also produced Ryan Koo’s Netflix Original Film Amateur, the GLAAD award-winning Any Day Now, starring Alan Cumming and Garret Dillahunt, Northern Borders, starring Oscar winner Bruce Dern, and the doc-fiction hybrid Desert Cathedral.
His work outside of dramatic features includes documentary film and television, corporate communications work, and hundreds of national television commercials.
